Intro to Currents

Join Amber for two days of focused coaching and skill development in moving water. This introductory current course is designed to help paddlers develop the skills, understanding and confidence needed to safely navigate current environments.

Over the two days, we'll work on reading and understanding current flows, identifying features, entering and exiting current, crossing eddy lines, and developing effective maneuvres in moving water. Our focus will be on building a strong foundation through practical exercises, repetition and individual feedback.

We'll make the most of the ebb, working with clean, defined eddy lines and a variety of current features. Day one will be a full day of exploration and skill development, giving participants plenty of time to get comfortable with the environment and put new skills into practice. Day two will build on that foundation, with opportunities to refine, review and consolidate what we've learned. For those feeling ready for an additional challenge, we'll look at introducing some more dynamic features and exercises on the second day.

The goal is to leave with a better understanding of moving water, a stronger set of practical skills and the confidence to continue exploring current environments.
