Paddle Canada L2 Instructor

Amber Champion is partnering up with Creek2Coast in Campbell River to run a Paddle Canada Instructor course. This program will be booked and hosted by Creek2Coast and taught by Amber.

Details
The course provides national certification in the instruction and administration of the Paddle Canada Level-2 Skills course.

The Paddle Canada Level-2 Instructor course prepares experienced paddlers to teach and evaluate the full Level-2 Skills curriculum in moderate coastal conditions. This program focuses on developing your instructional technique, group management, assessment skills, and ability to create a supportive, effective learning environment for intermediate paddlers.

Throughout the course, you’ll refine your technical paddling to a high and consistent standard while learning how to break down skills, diagnose errors, and deliver clear, adaptable coaching. We cover lesson planning, progressions, on-water class management, risk mitigation, and how to run safe, engaging sessions in waves, currents, and moderate coastal exposure.

You’ll also gain experience evaluating students against the Paddle Canada standard and providing constructive, actionable feedback. By the end of the program, candidates will have a strong foundation in both the technical and educational components required to certify Level-2 paddlers.

This course is ideal for instructors looking to expand their teaching repertoire, guide trainers aiming to diversify their skillset, or experienced paddlers stepping into more formal instructional roles.

The Sea Kayak Level-2 Instructor is certified to:

  • Conduct Waterfront Kayak, Basic Kayak, Rolling Skills clinic, Level-1 Skills and Level-2 Skills courses and certify paddlers at those levels

  • Assist a Level-3 Instructor on a Level-3 Skills course

What's included

  • 5 full days of instruction by a certified Paddle Canada instructor trainer, certification upon successful completion
